How Bodiivo works

It never presents a guess as knowledge.

It writes your training from a goal, watches what you actually do, and changes the plan only through a path that can explain itself.

The loop

  1. It writes the week from your goal.

Time, equipment and constraints first; a plan you confirm before anything is logged.

A week of training written from an onboarding intake
  2. Every set you log is evidence.

Gym Mode shows one exercise and what you did last time. Nothing you didn’t do is counted.

  3. It answers questions about you — or says it can’t yet.

Each belief is established, still learning, or withdrawn, with the evidence behind it.

  4. A change arrives as a proposal.

With its reasons, checked against an evidence floor. You accept it, or you don’t.

The four calls it can make.

Every training day opens with one. Each has a mark as well as a colour, because two of them look alike to a red-green deficiency and mean opposite things.

  1. Recover

Deliberately reduce load today. This is a decision, not a day off.

  2. Hold

Repeat today's prescription. Consolidate before adding load.

  3. Progress

Add the planned increment. Normal forward movement.

  4. Push

Take the harder option today — the evidence supports more than maintenance.

The call names every signal it used and every signal it wanted and did not have. “Four of five signals” is a statement about how much was measured — not a readiness score, because a readiness score would be a number with no source.

Every number says where it came from.

These are the badges beside figures throughout the app. There are no others.

Source unknown
Recorded before Bodiivo tracked where data came from. It is real, but how it was captured is not known.
Recorded in app
Bodiivo observed this directly while you trained rather than asking you for it.
Imported
Brought in from another app. How that app obtained it is not known.
From device
Reported by a connected device rather than entered by you.
Apple Health
Imported from Apple Health.
Calculated
Calculated from your other data. It is an estimate, not a measurement.
Suggested
Proposed by the coaching system. Not a measurement and not yet confirmed by you.
Curated
Reference knowledge Bodiivo authored and reviewed. Not something about you, and not something a machine decided.
Demo data
Example data created when your account was set up, so the app is not empty. Replace it with your own.

How it learns.

It works through four phases and tells you which one it is in. In the first it is learning how you train and changes nothing. By the third it changes the plan on its own — and still explains each change before it takes effect.

Moving between phases has conditions, and they are shown to you: logged sessions, settled conclusions, enough weight readings. A condition that is unmet says so and says what would meet it.

Nothing is unlocked by time passing.

Alongside what it has worked out, it keeps a list of what it has deliberately not concluded, with the reason and what would change it. That list is usually longer than the other one.

What it will not do.

  • It will not tell you what you will weigh in eight weeks.

Nothing it holds supports a prediction that far out, and a number with a date on it would be read as a promise.

  • It will not change your programme without a recorded reason.

Every change is raised as a proposal with its evidence, checked against an evidence floor, and written to an audit row. You choose which kinds may apply on their own; the rest wait for you, and you can refuse them.

  • It will not report an unmeasured thing as measured.

Rest you did not time, sleep from a night the watch was off, a maintenance figure derived from a formula — each is labelled as what it is. Absent stays absent; it is never filled in with an average.

  • It will not answer anything medical.

Pain, injury, medication and diagnosis are outside what it can responsibly answer, and a system that answers them anyway is worse than one that says so.

  • It will not generate an exercise description or a definition.

Every cue and every definition in the app was written and reviewed by a person. On the screens whose whole job is being trustworthy, generated text is the one thing it cannot afford.

See it on one person’s six weeks.

Your data: Bodiivo reads from Apple Health and writes nothing back. Revoking access stops it immediately. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with another service. The privacy policy is the full version.
